南西へ114.5kmの
地点にあるエスタンシア。
郊外に出る、すると
見渡す限りに広がる大地、
真っ青な高い空、
自由気ままに
放牧している牛や馬たち。
のどかな一日が待っていた。
*Estancia*
Don Orestes Pineiro, pharmacist, and his brother Jose, began to purchase plots of land
in this area. They went into sheep rearing with very good results, which led them to buy
larger extensions, sense the beginning of this estancia.
La Candelaria was named after Mrs.Candelaria Del Marmol, wife of Orestes.
Thorough breeds were imported from Europe in order to up grade the quality of horses
and sheep.
The couple were unable to bear children, so they adopted a little girl and named her
Rebeca.
As from 1900, Don Manuel Fraga, their future son-in-law begins to participate in the
running of the farm. After the passing of Don Orestes and Dona Candelaria in 1909, Fraga
takes over the management entirely, and due to the importation and interbreeding of cattle,
and modernization of the farm, excellent quality is achieved.
A man of very refined taste, he contracted architects and landscapers to design buildings,
parks, lakes, gardens and forests, which make “ La Candelaria” unique in style.
When he dies in 1935, his wife Rebeca puts the running of the establishment in the hands
of her brother-in-law, Roberto Fraga.
Between 1936 and 1940, their different breeds obtain the highest qualifications.
Mrs.Rebeca Del Marmol Fraga dies on January 20th , 1940 and Roberto Fraga assumes
the functions of director and administrator of “ La Candelaria” continuing the task of the
founders.
The remains of most of the members of the family were laid to rest in the chapel built
on the grounds of the estancia.
ここを右に入っていくと、ようやくエスタンシアへの
入り口が見えてくる(真ん中）。
最初に訪れるのがOficina(事務所）。ここでいろんな説明を受けたり、
テニスのラケットを貸してくれる(左）。
事務所の前に車を止めて向かい側には
レストランや、オープンカフェがある。
『アサード』。
ここにはいろいろな施設がある。
窓にはステンドグラスが嵌めこまれてあり、
とても豪華な感じ。宿泊(ホテル)も出来る。
他にバンガローや教会もある。
乗馬、テニス、ポロ、プール(側に水のみ場があった）・・・
いろいろと楽しむ事が出来る。
今回私は国際免許を持っていったので、
敷地内で左ハンドルの運転にも挑戦した。(苦笑）
ギアの位置は間違うし、ワイパーとウィンカーは逆だし・・・。
大さわぎの末、テニスコートに無事ついたので、
お昼のアサードが焼ける間、乗馬やテニスに燃えた。
この夏の日は日差しも強く、瞬く間に汗だくになってしまった。
アルゼンチンの女の子は15歳になると一世一代のお祝いをする。
この日はそのお祝いで来ていた家族があり、
日本でいうところの成人式というよりは
結婚式のような盛り上がりがあった。
『弥勒菩薩；みろくぼさつ』のレプリカ。
この弥勒菩薩は、国宝指定第一号で有名。
広隆寺の本尊の弥勒菩薩は高さ124cm。
赤松の一本造りで新羅より聖徳太子へ贈られたもの。
このレプリカは、大理石で出来ているそうで、
大きさも4〜50ｃｍくらいのものである。

スィートルームのテーブルに置かれている。
口元へかざす指と不思議な微笑が
地球の真反対にあって存在するということに、
とても感動した。。。
Estancia El Ombu
ブエノスアイレス市内から
およそ１２０ｋｍ離れた郊外に位置する
オンブ牧場（Estancia El Ombu)
車を走らせ僅かに離れると
大都会の喧騒から逃れ、
のどかな一日を送ることができる。
